Allow people to practice sending code as well as receiving
It would be nice to be able to have a way to practice sending code - tapping on the screen to simulate the key

Add a "user's choice" RSS feed
On the setup page, have an entry box for a user to enter their personal RSS choice. On the left hand side "selector knob", add a corresponding selection on the knob that would choose the user's RSS choice they entered on the setup page box.

You can't enter your own text?!
I guess I just wasted $5. More people would buy this if you could enter your own text and have it sound out in Morse Code. Yes, I understand this is a learning tool, but it would be fun to have a simple text to tone generator.

I would welcome thoughts on how this might work. It seems to me that you could do this by having the keyboard appear so you could type along to copy the code as it is played. This could conceivably be scored in real time or after the fact to give some feedback on your copying skills.
My hesitation for this is that given the tendency for iPhone typing to be not quite as precise as typing on a keyboard plus the autocorrection features, I wonder if the typing would be the slow step, as compared to your ability to copy the code…? At least if you are writing on paper then you are much less likely to mis-type or get ‘incorrectly autocorrected’.
I could see this working for shorter passages of text or individual letters, however. I would welcome ideas and thoughts on how best to do something like this.

Number of letters scroll bar
I would appreciate being able to pick the number of letters given instead of simply groups. I find it easy to get overwhelmed by a large group of new letters. Maybe a scroll bar for the amount of letters as an option that would go sequentially through the groups you already have established. Once I have the characters learnt I would find the groups more useful to practice problem area's. Keep up the good work!

Randomize word length
Have 2 scroll wheels--one for min length and one for max. Default could be 5/5 for current functionality. It makes for a more realistic copy.

Send cw messages to other users.
Wouldn't it be nice to send and receive messages - in cw - with other users?

Battery saving idea...
Could you consider a switch to turn off the screen? I do not need it whilst I am copying text and when I leave it running 'words' as I drop off to sleep I wake up with it lighting up the room :-)

Hi Paul, the problem I found was that when the screen goes to sleep the audio timing started to go completely off and the code becomes unreadable. To fix this I had to make the app turn off the auto sleep feature you would get with a normal app. I agree its not a great solution for battery life. I will at least try and see if I can have it act normally when its not playing code, that way it should turn off the screen and go to sleep a little while after the code is done playing.

Select code lesson length in minutes
It would be nice to be able to select the code run lengths in minutes. i.e. each koch lesson need not be 5 minutes. Maybe I feel like only copying 1 or 2 minutes. (Yes, I can pause it and move to the next lesson but why not...)

Allow user to enter text and save it as files to play back. Especially useful for training 4 contest

Add a morse reference chart, possibily tied into to turning character groups on and off.
There should be a morse code reference chart included in the app. it would be good if it was integrated with selecting character groups, so you can see why the character groups are assigned the way they are.

What is the equal sign for?
I admit I'm just starting out, but it throws me every time I hear it and I have to start over.

Hi Rob,
The app is currently configured to prevent the phone from going to sleep and this should mean that the auto lock doesn’t come on, however, clearly this isnt working as anticipated in this case. Let me look into this and see what I can do.
Simon.
