Allow people to practice sending code as well as receiving
It would be nice to be able to have a way to practice sending code - tapping on the screen to simulate the key

I would welcome thoughts on how this might work. It seems to me that you could do this by having the keyboard appear so you could type along to copy the code as it is played. This could conceivably be scored in real time or after the fact to give some feedback on your copying skills.
My hesitation for this is that given the tendency for iPhone typing to be not quite as precise as typing on a keyboard plus the autocorrection features, I wonder if the typing would be the slow step, as compared to your ability to copy the code…? At least if you are writing on paper then you are much less likely to mis-type or get ‘incorrectly autocorrected’.
I could see this working for shorter passages of text or individual letters, however. I would welcome ideas and thoughts on how best to do something like this.

Add a "user's choice" RSS feed
On the setup page, have an entry box for a user to enter their personal RSS choice. On the left hand side "selector knob", add a corresponding selection on the knob that would choose the user's RSS choice they entered on the setup page box.

Randomize word length
Have 2 scroll wheels--one for min length and one for max. Default could be 5/5 for current functionality. It makes for a more realistic copy.

Select code lesson length in minutes
It would be nice to be able to select the code run lengths in minutes. i.e. each koch lesson need not be 5 minutes. Maybe I feel like only copying 1 or 2 minutes. (Yes, I can pause it and move to the next lesson but why not...)

You can't enter your own text?!
I guess I just wasted $5. More people would buy this if you could enter your own text and have it sound out in Morse Code. Yes, I understand this is a learning tool, but it would be fun to have a simple text to tone generator.

Please allow us to increase character speed but increase the space between words. And allow us to have longer word lists.

Send cw messages to other users.
Wouldn't it be nice to send and receive messages - in cw - with other users?

Battery saving idea...
Could you consider a switch to turn off the screen? I do not need it whilst I am copying text and when I leave it running 'words' as I drop off to sleep I wake up with it lighting up the room :-)
13 votesHi Paul, the problem I found was that when the screen goes to sleep the audio timing started to go completely off and the code becomes unreadable. To fix this I had to make the app turn off the auto sleep feature you would get with a normal app. I agree its not a great solution for battery life. I will at least try and see if I can have it act normally when its not playing code, that way it should turn off the screen and go to sleep a little while after the code is done playing.

I just purchased it and it's not a bad app. With a little work it could be a great app. Was shocked to see you couldn't enter your own text.
Similar to what other have said. let you have files of your own text. The common words are NOT the common QSO words. hw abt wx, rig, dipole, rig names, beam, spy, hw?, tnx, etc. w5mmt / hs0zac

Add a listen button for each character.
Add a "listen" button next to each character on the settings pages so that we could hear a character before adding it to our practice session.

Allow people to create a own set of words
Every one has a words set more used in qso. I think would be usefull to allow users files in witch we can store one or more sets of personal words. This also would help to learn the "music" from words in other languages than only English.

Which one is the new letter
When we add a letter in the koch method the runs now include the new letter. But we haven't had a chance to learn it yet. It would be nice to allow a minute or more of the single letter so that we can get used to hgearing it before doing 5 minutes of random text with the new letter.
9 votesHi Dave, This sounds like a great idea.
I had some thoughts on how we could do this:
- When you push the [+] button I could have the app pop up an alert asking if you would like to add a run of the new letter to the start of your next practice session.
- Alternatively (or in addition) I could have this be on the Settings page so you could set this to happen automatically when you add a new letter, this would save you from having to respond to an alert.
I was also wondering if it would be worth temporarily increasing the frequency at which the new letter appears in the random text. This would show you the new letter more often for a while, then it would go back to appearing at random along with the other letters in your practice set.

allow me to attach my iambic key and use my iPhone as a keyer to practice; maybe even let me enter a text message via morse code
1. Plug key or paddle into iPhone
2. Practice sending using the iPhone, (iPhone decodes the morse into text on the screen)
3. Option to enter text message via Morse code using an external key or paddle

Email support from app
I'm having problems with no sound. It would be nice to have an email address available in the app so I could write you about it. 73
